A Gardeners Gold-Mine

My lovely neighbor Priscilla (pronounced "Pree-see-la" en espanol) took me yesterday to a wonderful little store here in Tactic. It was sort of a pharmacy but also had SEEDS! Boxes and boxes crammed with flower and herb seeds! Since we moved here I have been wanting to grow some sweet peas and they had some. I also bought sunflowers, poppies and hollyhocks - all some of my favorites, as well as some herbs and lettuce. I'm so excited to plant them all and see them grow. It's a bit of a crime to not be growing things here when the climate is mild enough to grow plants year-round. So I'll keep you updated on how my garden grows:) I sometimes wonder what my passions in life are besides my relationships with God, family and friends. Then I get into growing things and I can hardly sleep I'm so excited:) There's just something about working with dirt and seeing things grow, it's good for the soul I think.

You are so adorable! I wish I could get that excited about gardening...I admire people that putter around in the garden and who can actually grow things. I can barely keep my flowers alive....and pity my house plants. I've been able to keep a christmas cactus alive for 2 years now which is a major feat for me.
I'll want to see photos of your garden.

I'm looking forward to devouring all those herbs. Don't think I'll lose sleep with anticipation though...

I had some beautiful planters on the balcony and they've almost been completely scorched... they were sooooo beautiful!! I'll have to find a way for them to have more shade
